Gender Policy Implementation Committee (GPIC) was formed in 2003 following the formulation of SUA Gender Policy and its strategic plan in 2002. GPIC is mandated to ensure that the mission stated in the Gender issues at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). It reports to SENATE through the Coordinating Committee of the Corporate Strategic Plan (CSP). GPIC has the following functions:

 To monitor all activities that relate to gender within the University.

  • To work with other relevant institution within SUA to ensure gender dis-aggregated data are collected, stored and disaggregated as reflected in various documents and reports of the University.
  • To take the lead in coordination of various gender related programmes.
  • To take an active role in developing proposals to develop gender sensitive infrastructure within the University. 5. To review the gender policy from time to time as necessary.
